Every time we set a piece of wood spinning on the lathe, we can already see it in your hands — what you’ll fill it with, how you’ll use it, and who you’ll gift it to when they ask for the hundredth time where you bought it.
HOW WE MAKE your PERFECT BOWL
CLASSIC design
CRAFTSmanship
MADE for life
Making a wooden bowl from scratch is like the beginning of a great friendship. It’s not always clear what’s there, but you know with all your heart it’s going to be something special.
When we make a Seventh String Bowl, we start with a log or piece of wood that has a unique story to tell, just like each of our bowls. We re-purpose wood that’s already on our mill site, or salvaged from other sources. We also buy wood from trusted partners; wood that we know will have a great life as a bowl.
EVERY BOWL has a STORY
Three collections born from music, mastery, and renewal.
Trees have a story to tell, and we’re in the business of making sure the story continues. That’s why we’re growing trees, salvaging logs from the forest, and utilizing as much wood that comes into the mill as possible.
GUITARS to BOWLS
Almost 40 years ago, we started milling wood for the finest guitar makers and luthiers in the world. We still do. Working with wood is what we’re good at, and now we’re making bowls from some of that same wood.
A big part of working with wood is finding new life for what might otherwise go to waste. At Seventh String Bowls, we take wood that’s not quite instrument-grade, and turn bowls that are perfect for your home.
LIFE is FULL
Fill it up. With memories and moments that only get better with time – like your Seventh String Bowl.
One of the inspirations for becoming bowl turners is a figured maple bowl that’s been in our family for generations. We want to make heirloom quality bowls that you can enjoy for years to come, too.
