A design classic stands the test of time, regardless of when it was made. Simple, iconic, maybe even nostalgic, a classic design is one you never tire of.
Our Seventh String Bowl design is the perfect marriage of creativity and engineering. In developing our bowl shape and size, we analyzed dozens of wooden bowls, spent time with a world master woodturner, and turned hundreds of bowls at our mill to get the curve, foot, and finish just right.
Right now, we’re focused on our 12" classic bowl — the perfect size for just about anything. A larger 16" version is in the works, because sometimes, bigger really is better.

CRAFT meets SCIENCE

Crafting a perfect bowl is our passion. Ensuring we can continue turning bowls for years to come is our priority.
Our goal is to utilize and bring out the best in every piece of wood that comes into our mill, whether it’s tonewood for guitars, or logs for bowlmaking.
To make our bowls, we combine age-old woodturning techniques with scientific ingenuity. Our team has invented specialized tools and processes that help us core, cure, turn and sand every bowl, efficiently and consistently. We vacuum-dry our cores to help maintain the shape and size of the final bowl, an important step in readying the bowl for the lathe. Every bowl is then hand finished with a smooth-as-silk protective coating, so it feels as good in your hands as it looks on your table.

WHAT MAKES our STORY UNIQUE

When we started milling wood for guitars back in the ’80s, making bowls wasn’t something we had in mind. But along the way, we kept finding pieces of wood that weren’t quite right for instruments—but too beautiful to waste. So, we started turning them into bowls. What began as a side project quickly became something we really cared about—a meaningful way to use more of the wood we work with, and create something useful and long lasting.
