This Privacy Policy describes how Seventh String Bowls, a brand of Pacific Rim Tonewoods (“Seventh String Bowls,” “we,” “us,” “our”), collects, uses and shares your personal information when you visit or make a purchase from seventhstringbowls.com (the “Site”).

Personal Information We Collect

When you visit the Site, we collect certain information about your device, how you use the Site, and what we need to process your orders. We may also collect information if you contact us for customer support. In this policy, “personal information” means any information that can identify you as an individual, including the information below.

Device information

  • What we collect: browser version, IP address, time zone, cookie information, the pages and products you view, search terms, and how you interact with the Site.
  • Why: to load the Site correctly for you and to understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it.
  • How: collected automatically through cookies, log files and similar technologies (see Cookies below).
  • Shared with: Shopify, Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Boost Commerce, Meta and Pinterest (see Service Providers below).

Order information

  • What we collect: name, billing address, shipping address, payment information, email address and phone number. Payments are processed by Shopify; we do not store full card numbers.
  • Why: to fulfill your order, process payment, arrange shipping, send order confirmations and receipts, communicate with you, and screen orders for potential risk or fraud. If you have agreed to hear from us, we also use it to send news about our products and offers.
  • How: collected from you.
  • Shared with: Shopify and our shipping carriers.

Customer support information

  • What we collect: the information you include when you contact us, such as your name, email address and the content of your message.
  • Why: to answer your questions and provide customer support.
  • How: collected from you.

How We Use Personal Information

We use your personal information to run our store and serve you: offering products for sale, processing payments, shipping and fulfilling your orders, answering your questions, improving the Site, and, if you have agreed to it, keeping you up to date on new products and offers.

Email

We collect your email address when you place an order, sign up for our mailing list, contact us through our website, or accept an invitation from us.

We use it to:

  • Send order confirmations, shipping and tracking updates, and replies to your questions. These are part of your order, not marketing.
  • Send news about new bowls, limited releases and offers, but only if you’ve signed up or otherwise agreed to hear from us.

Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, or you can email info@seventhstringbowls.com and we’ll remove you. Unsubscribing won’t stop emails about an order you’ve already placed.

We send email through Shopify Email, part of our Shopify store, which handles your address on our behalf. We don’t sell or rent our email list.

Service Providers

We share personal information with service providers who help us run our store:

  • Shopify — our online store, checkout, payments and email (Shopify Email). Shopify’s privacy policy: https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy
  • Shipping carriers — your name, address and phone number, to deliver your order.
  • Google Analytics — to understand how visitors use our Site. Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
  • Microsoft Clarity — records how visitors interact with our pages (clicks, scrolling, mouse movement) so we can improve the Site. Payment details are entered on Shopify’s checkout, which Clarity does not record, and Clarity masks text typed into form fields.   • Boost Commerce — powers search on our Site.
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — the Meta Pixel measures how our Facebook and Instagram ads perform and helps show our ads to people likely to be interested in them. Meta’s privacy policy: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy. You can also adjust your ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram settings.
  • Pinterest — the Pinterest tag measures how our pins and Pinterest ads perform and helps show our ads to people likely to be interested in them. Pinterest’s privacy policy: https://policy.pinterest.com/en/privacy-policy

We may also share personal information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request, or to otherwise protect our rights.

We don’t sell or rent your personal information. We do use the Meta Pixel and the Pinterest tag to measure our ads and show them to people likely to be interested, which some state privacy laws treat as “sharing” personal information for advertising. You can opt out at any time on our Your Privacy Choices page. You can also opt out by emailing info@seventhstringbowls.com with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share.”

Your information may be stored and processed in the United States and in other countries where we and our service providers operate.

Cookies

Cookies are small files your browser stores when you visit a website. We use four kinds:

  • Necessary — set by Shopify to run the store: keep your cart, remember your region and currency, process checkout, and keep the Site secure. The store doesn’t work without them.
  • Preferences — set by Shopify and our search tool to remember products you’ve recently viewed and searches you’ve made.
  • Analytics — set by Shopify, Google Analytics (_ga) and Microsoft Clarity (_clck, _clsk) to help us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it.
  • Advertising — set by Meta (_fbp) and Pinterest to measure our Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest ads and show them to people likely to be interested. You can opt out on our Your Privacy Choices page.

You can turn off analytics and advertising cookies through our cookie banner (shown where the law requires it) or on our Your Privacy Choices page.

Shopify’s full list of the cookies it sets is here: https://www.shopify.com/legal/cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies will stop the cart and checkout from working.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Because there is no consistent industry understanding of how to respond to “Do Not Track” signals, we do not change our data collection and use practices when we detect such a signal from your browser.

We do honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If you visit the Site with GPC turned on and you are in a state whose privacy law recognizes it, we treat it as a request to opt out of “sharing” your personal information for targeted advertising, for the browser and device you used. You can also opt out on our Your Privacy Choices page.

Your Rights

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing info@seventhstringbowls.com. We’ll respond within 30 days.

Data Retention

We keep order records as long as needed for tax and accounting purposes, and remove your information from our marketing list when you unsubscribe.

Children

Our Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last changed.
